Privacy Notice
This notice explains how HostUrServer collects, uses, shares and protects personal data when you visit our website, request support or purchase services.
Effective 14 September 2026Who we are
HostUrServer is the controller for personal data handled through this website and client portal. Privacy enquiries and rights requests can be submitted through our secure contact form.
Data we collect
We may process account and contact details, billing and transaction records, service configuration, support communications, security and access logs, device and browser information, cookie preferences, and information you choose to provide. Payment card details are processed by our payment providers and are not stored in full by HostUrServer.
Why we use it
We use personal data to provide and secure services, administer accounts and payments, prevent fraud and abuse, respond to support requests, meet legal and accounting duties, improve our website, and send marketing only where permitted.
Lawful bases
Depending on the activity, processing is necessary to perform a contract, comply with law, pursue legitimate interests such as service security and fraud prevention, or is based on consent. Consent can be withdrawn at any time without affecting earlier processing.
Sharing and processors
We may share relevant data with infrastructure, domain registry, security, payment, email, analytics, live-chat and professional-service providers where necessary. Providers act under appropriate contractual and security obligations. We may also disclose data where required by law.
International transfers
Some service providers may process data outside the United Kingdom. Where required, we use recognised safeguards such as UK adequacy regulations or approved contractual clauses.
Retention
Account, order, invoice and tax records are generally retained for the period required by law. Support, security and technical records are retained only as long as reasonably necessary for their purpose, dispute handling and protection of services.
Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability or objection, and may withdraw consent. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner. Submit requests through our secure contact form.
Security
We use access controls, encryption in transit, monitoring, backups and operational safeguards. No internet service is risk free; customers must also protect credentials and maintain appropriate security for their own content and applications.
Automated decisions
We may use automated security and fraud signals to protect accounts and transactions. Where a decision has a significant legal or similar effect, you may ask for human review where applicable.
Basket reminders and service communications
If you explicitly request a saved-basket reminder, or where the electronic-marketing soft opt-in lawfully applies to an existing customer, we may send a limited reminder about an incomplete order for our similar services. We record the applicable permission, suppress messages after purchase or expiry, cap the sequence, and provide a simple opt-out. We do not identify or email an anonymous visitor who has not supplied an address through a permitted route.
Changes
We may update this notice when services, providers or law change. The latest version and effective date will remain available on this page.
